of Contemporary Prints - MMX

2010 Selections
2010 Prints Awarded Selection.

The Americas Biennial Exhibition is an international survey of contemporary miniature & small prints showcasing works selected from around the world. Selected from approximately 600 entries, 36 works from 32 exhibiting artists represent 22 nations and a variety of print mediums, from traditional to digitally informed. Jury selections for the 2010 Americas Biennial Exhibition of Contemporary Prints were announced on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, with the online exhibition available for viewing as well.

All works entered are submitted before a committee of jury members for exhibition selection. Distinguished jurors invited to participate are established professionals from a diverse selection of art disciplines. The scheduled selection committee in 2010 includes Doug Allaire, from The University of Iowa’s College of Education, Islam Aly, from The University of Iowa’s School of Art & Art History and The Center for the Book, Shannon Kennedy from Coe College's Department of Art, as well as Rahat Sodaev from Kirkwood College's Arts & Humanities Department.

The 2010 Americas Biennial Exhibition will open its inaugural venue Wednesday, September 1, 2010 in Iowa City, Iowa within The University of Iowa’s Project Art Galleries. The initial exhibit, located in The University of Iowa Hospitals, is scheduled through December 1, 2010. After January 2011 the exhibition is expected to become a traveling exhibition with additional venues remaining to be scheduled.
