Falling Leaves Elizabeth Burton |
||
| Statement of Artistic Process | ||
'Falling Leaves' is a unique print with hand colouring. I draw most of my inspiration from the natural world. In this print, I was inspired by our native eucalyptus trees, and the amazing colours that appear in the leaves as they age and fall from the tree.

| Bio | ||
Elizabeth Burton has run a successful art practice for over 20 years. During this time she has exhibited and taught artist’ workshops throughout Australia, and currently paints and teaches in Brisbane. Her artistic journey has evolved through rich experimentation in botanical illustration, watercolours, pastels, oils, mixedmedia, and printmaking, and is a member of the Impress Printmakers of Brisbane, Australia. Underpinning Elizabeth Burton’s multi-discplinary—sometimes multimedia—approach is her mastery of drawing, and understanding of the power of simplicity of line. She uses these abilities to infuse her work with a rare whisper of sensuality. She has widely exhibited her work and regularly undertakes commissions. As a result, her works are included in private and corporate collections in Australia, Denmark, Belgium, United States, and the United Kingdom, while winning many awards both locally and nationally.
