TIBE & TTBEA Announce Merge
AUSTIN, Texas -- The Iowa Biennial Exhibition & Archive of Contemporary Miniature Prints [TIBE] and The Texas Biennial Exhibition & Archive of Contemporary Printmaking [TTBEA] have merged to form The Americas Biennial Exhibition & Archive of Contemporary Prints & Printmaking. The Americas
Biennial Exhibition & Archive of Contemporary Prints & Printmaking remains a non-profit, all-volunteer, fine arts endeavor.
Representing the continents of the Americas, the purpose of The Americas Biennial Exhibition is to both introduce the public to contemporary prints from around the world while enlarging the collection of works within The Americas Biennial Exhibition Archive and making them available for academic research, museums, artists, and print students alike. While works within the research archives can never be sold, they will be used to promote a greater awareness of the uniqueness and beauty of the print and print mediums.
The Americas Biennial Exhibition will initially be exhibited at The University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. Thereafter the selected works will become an international traveling exhibition for a period of up to two years. All jury-selected works are retained by The Americas Biennial Exhibition of Contemporary Prints while all works submitted are retained within the collections of The Americas Biennial Exhibition Archive. All works formerly submitted to either The Iowa Biennial Exhibition of Contemporary Miniature Prints or the Texas Biennial Exhibition of Contemporary Printmaking have been accessioned into the The Americas Biennial Exhibition Archive within their respective collections.
